Leighton hasn’t recovered from his exciting day. We decided to take a 30 minute ride to the largest “drug store” in the world in Wall today, returned home 8 hours later. It was an exciting day for Leighton as he probably took over 1000 photos including lesser chipmunk, badger with a prairie dog, bighorn sheep, pronghorn and bison. I can’t tell you how many times he disappeared on his hunt for the animals. Only once when he walked out onto a tiny strip of mountain top did I panic. Now he calls his lesser chipmunk shots the “yell at me pictures”. When he was showing me the pictures he said, that chipmunk was so daring, if that plant would have broken he would have fallen over 300 feet. On our way to Wall we had a rattlesnake cross the road in front of us. Really did not want to see one even crossing the road. It was snowing in Wall – the blowing cotton wood blooms looked just like snow. Below are a few highlights of our day.

Can’t decide on a favorite picture, but if I were forced to chose one I’d go with the badger with his dog.

What a day! And these photos are… exhilarating, crisp, full of drama. Adjectives about them are spewing out of my mouth, but sound banal so I resist.
I do hope that you submit at least some of your photographs to professional competition. These are powerful.
